On November 30, 2020, Penobscot County Superior Court and Bangor District Court will begin accepting eFiling in most civil matters, including:
- Family matters (divorce, Parental Rights and Responsibilities, child protection, child support, post-judgment motions, adoptions, guardianship, and name changes)
- Small claims
- Forcible entry and detainer (evictions)
- Foreclosures
- Other civil matters except for civil violations
eFiling Steps
- Verify that eFiling is available in your court and case (eFiling is currently available in Penobscot County Superior Court, Bangor District Court, and Business and Consumer Courts.)
- Register for eFileMaine
- Login to eFileMaine to eFile additional documents.
eFiling in all Business and Consumer Court cases statewide will also be mandatory on November 30, 2020.
eFiling is mandatory for attorneys and self-represented filers who file or intend to file more than six non-emergency cases in the current calendar year. Other self-represented filers may choose to eFile but are not required to do so. See Self-Represented Filers.
